Hello blogging world!
As many of you know, I am a teacher--6th grade actually. (Call me crazy for dealing with middle schoolers all day long but I love it...though some nights I do need a glass of wine to help me through!) And yes, I am currently on summer break and enjoying every minute of it. It is one of the amazing perks of my job; probably second to the actual kiddos!Since I have some free time now and my hubby and I live far enough away from loved ones that we don't get to see each other as often as we would like, I have decided to join the blogging world so that those of you who wish to keep up with our lives can! I figure this will give me a chance to get out my love for writing while keeping you all up to date on our day to day adventures of being a new husband and wife.
Also, this will serve as a platform for me to show off some things I create. To say it bluntly, I am a craft-a-holic and proud of it! I walk around my house, stores, and classroom constantly finding things that I seem to think--hey I could make that or I bet I could craft something to spice that up.
BUT, the biggest news I have to share today is welcoming the newest member of our little family. Her name is Mila (pronounced ME-la) and she is a 10 week old adorable black lab puppy. We got her about a week ago and could not love her more.
HOW CUTE! |
She lays like this all the time. Because of it, some family members have nicknamed her Frogger! |
Such a sweetheart! |
I have always wanted a dog and even before Mat and I were ever engaged, I made sure he understood that a dog in our future would be a MUST! Thankfully, he agreed and wanted one too so after we tied the knot I started asking about getting a puppy. My persistence paid off and not even a year after we were married, we have precious Mila.
It is kind of a joke now because I always used to say "Day 1--we get married, Day 2--get a house, and Day 3--get a dog." Well we are married, have a dog...but still no house. That my friends will be in progress this year hopefully!
Mila is simply awesome though. She has been adjusting to life with us well and has already gone on a weekend trip with us. We visited both sets of parents last weekend and Mila made the trek with us. She is quite the trooper for that. Over 4 hours in the car, multiple unfamiliar homes to check out, and meeting more than ten new people. WHEW! Needless to say, we were all tired at the beginning of this week!
BUT we couldn't be happier about our new little girl.
Until next time,
The Wallaces
Oh, and did I mention she is a cuddle bug?! |
